The Maltese Islands in your pocket

2020 saw the Maltese Islands welcome a new tourism concept to its shores, iSeeMalta. This business venture encompassed a comprehensive visitor’s package that serves as a personal guide to the island.

Tailored to visitors of all kinds the product offers a selection of admission passes to select attractions, heritage sites and transport facilities around the island. Marsamxetto Steamferry Services Ltd - The most affordable and reliable travel choice

With a wealth of experience in the maritime transport sector, the Marsamxetto Steamferry Services Ltd, provide the most efficient and affordable means of travelling within both Marsamxetto Harbour and the Grand Harbour. Operating a daily service with a frequent schedule that runs for most of the day, it is the ideal way to travel, neatly eliminating the nightmare of traffic congestion within Malta’s busiest thoroughfares and the ever-increasing problems associated with parking. In more tangible terms, it simply takes 5 minutes to travel from The Strand, Sliema to Valletta and 7 minutes to reach Valletta from Cottonera (The 3 Cities).

Since its introduction, the two-route service at the Grand Harbour and Marsamxetto saw an unprecedented increase in passengers, marking the Valletta Ferry Services, the official ferry service for these routes, as a firm favourite with commuters, offering a fast, reliable and inexpensive way to travel. Additionally, Frequent Traveller Cards are available and special discounts are also available for Karta Anzjan and Blue Badge holders, further identifying the service as the best value for money choice for commuters.

Comino Ferry Services Co-op

This company started its operations seven years ago linking Marfa to the island of Comino. In 2019, Fortina Investments entered into a co-operative arrangement to provide a better service and is one of the five operators managing the ferry service. This service has recently been awarded a 15-year concession to operate a more efficient, scheduled service to passengers, and is investing €5 million in hybrid boats, which are safer, more comfortable and environment-friendly.

The 11 boats currently used by the co-op were reduced to two since the new vessels – designed by Maltese naval architects and marine engineers – are larger and better equipped to operate this route, between Comino, Marfa and Cirkewwa.
